Want to get more of the things you love and have a life of abundance? Keep reading and I’ll show you how! Over the weekend I heard a very memorable quote from a person that is a big inspiration to me. He said, “you don’t get what you want, you get what you are”. I interpreted this to mean “Be the Change”… or Be as you would like the world to be… and going even further, act as though your desired outcome was a certainty law of attraction

Mastering The Inner Game of Attraction

I didn’t realize it at the time but my negative habits just a few short years ago caused me to attract a lot of nasty things into my life. When I saw The Secret for the first time it was my first exposure to how mental attitude could affect what happens to me in my life. I temporarily changed and then fell back into bad habits when things didn’t go perfectly. What I’ve realized is that mastering a positive attitude takes maintenance and continuous intention. One helpful practice is to wake up every morning and write out 10 things you’re truly grateful for. By the Law of Attraction, the act of gratitude and focusing on what’s good in your life will allow more of it to come to you. law of attraction If you’ve seen The Secret, you know that it’s a bit “out there”, however, I don’t dismiss any of the ideas contained. On a more individual level, you and I program our minds to think in a certain way and make certain decisions based on what we tell ourselves and our recurring conscious thoughts. Our reticular activators (and I’m not going to get any more scientific so don’t worry.. lol) then filter all the information that comes to us on a daily basis based on relevance. (this isn’t the first time I’ve talked about this but repetition is the mother of all invention, right?) So to give you a simple example, if you say “making money is easy” and believe it when you say it. You’re telling your reticular activator to search for evidence that this statement is true and filter out all the other BS. 😉 How does this tie into gratitude? Well, if you sincerely think back to all the times you’ve received money and say “thank-you” (and really mean it), you’ll focus your reticular activator on making money and it will search for opportunities to make that happen for you. Essentially, you can increase your income just by being sincerely grateful for that which you already have… conversely, if you complain about money, you’re mind will make that which you complain about grow and your bank account balance plummet. law of attraction

A Tough and Necessary Adjustment

I first learned this from Jeffrey Gitomer and, although challenging, it’s well worth implementing. In developing a positive attitude that attracts what you want, the best thing you can do for yourself is to never, ever complain about anyone and anything. period. Not exactly a small order… but I’ve found that any time I’ve been vigilant about this, good things have happened to me and I’ve just been happier. From experience I’ll tell you that I had to catch and correct myself several times per hour but I started making good progress after that. Certainly still a work in progress but it’s a means to a much happier life!

Concluding Thoughts

We don’t get what we want, we get what we are. If we’re grateful and celebrate our happy moments, we will get more of them. If we treat people well, they will return the favor. Be the change you want to see in the world. I appreciate you and your commitment. Please share and subscribe at the top right. Thanks for reading!
